![]() ![]() Ifestia is the site of an ancient amphitheatre, cemetery, palace and baths, founded by the Pelasgians that was the second most important settlement on the island during ancient times and the centre of religious activity. Today, visitors can see a range of different settlements that were built over each other from around 4000BC to 1184 BC. Due to its location on the border between Europe and Asia Minor, Ancient Poliochni was a rich commercial centre and is thought to be one of the oldest thriving settlements in the whole of Europe.
